On July 15, 2024, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Quezon Provincial Statistical Office launched the conduct of 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (2024 POPCEN-CBMS) at a simultaneous flag ceremony held at the Quezon Convention Center, Lucena City attended by Provincial Statistics Officer Airene A. Pucyutan and Supervising Statistical Specialist Normita D. Pagkatipunan, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Lucban represented by Senior Statistical Specialist Margarita G. Cada, LGU of Calauag represented by Statistical Specialist II Roberto M. Ramos, and LGU of General Nakar represented by Statistical Analyst Alekhine C. Veluz.
The Census of Population is a complete enumeration of households and institutional living quarters in the country designed to take an inventory of the total population of the Philippines. CBMS, on the other hand, is an organized technology-based system for collecting, processing, and validating necessary disaggregated data that may be used for planning, program implementation, and impact monitoring at the local level. Specifically, this undertaking will be useful in the updating of beneficiary registries of social protection programs.
There are 1,750 hired data enumerators in the province of Quezon who will visit households and institutional living quarters and utilize a computer-assisted personal interviewing system during data collection. The interview operation starts on July 15 and will run until September 2024.
By virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 627, issued by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. declaring July 2024 as “National Census and Community-based Monitoring System Month”, PSA Quezon hereby encourages all citizens and residents of the province to cooperate with the census enumerators and supervisors in the conduct of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS and provide truthful and complete information.
Sa POPCEN at CBMS, Kasama ka sa Pag-unlad Tungo sa Makabagong Pilipinas.
