Number of Marriages… A total of 272 marriages were registered in Quezon in July 2020. It recorded an increase of 32.7 percent from the previous month’s total of 205. The daily average of registered marriages during the month was 9, higher than the recorded daily average of 7 in June. Marriages by Place of Occurrence… Lucena City (42 or 15.4 percent) had the highest number of registered marriages. It was followed by Sariaya (32 or 11.8 percent). Candelaria (22 or 8.1 percent), Tiaong (21 or 7.7 percent), Lucban and City of Tayabas (16 or 5.9 percent) recorded the next highest registered marriages. Around 65.9 percent of the 41 municipalities/cities in the province registered less than 10 marriage occurrences during the month. There was no marriage event recorded in the municipalities of Alabat, Catanauan, Jomalig, Perez, and Sampaloc. Marriages by Age Group of Groom and Bride… The highest recorded number of brides and grooms belonged to age group 25-29 years, with 136 or 50.0 percent and 132 or 48.5 percent of the total, respectively. There were more teenage brides than teen grooms in July 2020. Teen brides comprised of 8 or 2.9 percent while teen grooms comprised of 2 or 0.7 percent of the total marriages. Marriages by Previous Marital Status of Groom and Bride… Of the total marriages, majority were first timers or single brides (271) and grooms (268) prior to the marriage.
