Number of Marriages A total of 736 marriages were registered in Quezon in December 2019. It recorded an increase of 61.8 percent from the previous month’s total of 455. The daily average of registered marriages during the month was 24, higher than the recorded daily average of 15 in November. Marriages by Place of Occurences Lucena City (96 or 13.0 percent) had the highest number of registered marriages. It was followed by Sariaya (81 or 11.0 percent). Atimonan (62 or 8.4 percent), Candelaria and Tiaong (both with 47 or 6.4 percent) recorded the next highest registered marriages. Around 48.8 percent of the 41 municipalities/cities in the province registered less than 10 marriage occurrences during the month.There was no marriage event recorded in the island municipalities of Jomalig, Patnanungan and Perez. Marriages by Type of Ceremony The most number of registered marriages were solemnized under church rites, with 380 or 51.6 percent. Marriages performed under civil ceremonies totaled 300 accounting for 40.8 percent of the total registered marriages.There was one (1) marriage event celebrated under Muslim rites equivalent to 0.1 percent. Marriages celebrated under other types of ceremonies comprised 7.5 percent.
