SPECIAL RELEASE VITAL STATISTICS APRIL 2021 The data presented herein are based on the documents submitted by the local civil registrars of the province and consists of timely and delayed registrations received during the month. Births…. The aggregate number of registered births in Batangas for the month of April 2021 reached to 2,964. There was an extremely increase of 134.49% percent live births from last year’s record of 1,264. This number includes timely and delayed births registered year during the month. Marriages…. There were 1,156 wedding events registered in the province for April 2021. It increases of 1,135 marriages from last year’s events of 21. Death…. The total number of death cases in the province reached 2,241 for April 2021. A death figure gets higher by 164.58 percent compared to the same month last year with 2,241 deaths. Total population of Live Births... The total population of live births in Batangas for April 2021 were 2,964 with a daily average of 99 live births with approximately 4 births per hour. The highest number of registered live births was recorded in Lipa City with 543. Followed by Batangas City with 439 live births and Tanauan City considered at third ranked with 307 registered live births. These top three cities comprised 43.49 percent of the total registered live births in Batangas. Many of the municipalities/ cities in Batangas have a daily average of one birth only. Live Birth by Sex… More than half of the total registered live births were males with 1,554 or 52.43 percent while the remaining 47.57 percent were females with 1,410. This came to a birth sex ratio of 110 males for every 91 females. Highest proportion for male and female births was reported in Taysan, wherein for births, five males and one female were born. Lowest sex ratio however, was registered the municipality of San Luis. About 76.47 percent of the cities/municipalities in the province reported a sex ratio of more than 100 while the remaining 23.53 percent had a sex ratio of less than 100. Live Birth Attendants… Most of the mothers gave birth through medical attendants. About 88.19 percent delivered their babies with assistance from medical staff (physician, nurse, and midwife). The remaining 11.81 percent were delivered by non-medical attendants (hilot, other birth attendants). A slight decrease was recorded in April 2021 born to married parents from 81 percent to 50 percent in April 2021. Meanwhile, registered live births born out of wedlock increased by 31 percent compared to the same month last year. Registered Marriages… The total number of marriage occurrences for April 2021 was 1,156. City of Lipa City had the most number of couples who undergone the process of nuptiality with a total number 177.While municipality of Nasugbu ranked second with 159 nuptial events and followed by Batangas City with 130 number of marriages. On the other hand, only one marriage event conducted in Tingloy considered to be the lowest marriage of the province in this month. Followed by Agoncillo and Lobo having 2 nuptials only. Marriages by Type of Ceremony… More than half of the weddings were solemnized under the Roman Catholic rites with a total of 631 or 54.58 percent of the total recorded marriages in the province. While, 416 or 35.99 percent couples chooses to take their vows on civil rites. The remaining 9.43 percent or 109 listed marriages were solemnized under other religious rites ceremony.\ Registered Deaths by Sex All registered deaths that happened in Batangas for April 2021 were 2,241. It is consisted by 56.54 percent or 1,267 were males and the remaining 43.46 percent or 974 were females. More males are prone to death than female resulting to 130 sex ratio. Lipa City had the most registered number of death cases with a total of 425 deaths followed by Batangas City with 363 while Sta. Teresita had the least registered death with five death case reported. Attendants and Civil Status at Deaths… From the total registered deaths in Batangas, death events of 60.2 percent were attended by health professionals (private physician, public health officer and hospital authority) while 39.8 percent or 892 were not attended by any health professional. About 53.32 percent of recorded deaths were married, 20.39 percent were single, 25.66 percent were widow/widower, and 0.04 percent was divorced while thirteen persons or 58 percent civil status deaths were not determined.
