The number of deaths for the month of June 2023 reached a total of 1,687. This shows an increase by 10.0 percent from 1,535 deaths in June 2022. There was a daily average occurrence of 56 deaths or about 2 persons died per hour during this period. More male deaths (948 or 56.2 percent) than female deaths (739 or 43.8 percent) during this period, resulting in a sex ratio of death of 128 males for every 100 females. City of Calamba shows the highest recorded number of registered deaths at which accounts to 15.7 percent or 265 of the total number of deaths in the province. This was followed by City of San Pablo with 199 deaths or 11.8 percent and Santa Cruz with 185 deaths or 11.0 percent registered during the month. On the other hand, municipalities of Kalayaan and Pangil, had the lowest number with 5 and 6 registered deaths, respectively. These shows 0.3 and 0.4 percent shares of the total deaths for the month of June 2023. Figure 1. Number of Registered Deaths by Age, Laguna: June 2023 More male deaths than female deaths recorded The number of male deaths (948 or 56.2 percent share) was higher than female deaths (739 or 43.8 percent share) in June 2023. The highest percentage was married persons recorded at 763 or 45.2 percent, followed by single persons with 489 or 29.0 percent and widow/widower with 434 or 25.7 percent of the total deaths. Number of Registered Deaths by Civil Status, Laguna: June 2023 Attendant refers to a private physician, public health officer, hospital authority, or any other allied health care provider who provided medical attendance to the deceased at the time of death. Figure 3. Percent Distribution of Attendant at Death, Laguna: June 2023 Out of 1,687 registered deaths, 1,169 or 69.3 percent of deaths were attended by public health officer.
