There were 5,027 reported death incidences in Laguna from January to March 2023 resulted of 0.1 percent increase from first quarter of 2022. Calamba City has still the highest number of deaths with 753. On the other hand, municipality of Rizal has the least number of deaths with only 18 deaths recorded. Figure 1. Number of Registered Deaths by Month, Laguna: First Quarter 2023   A total of 2,813 (55.9%) male deaths and 2,214 (44.1%) female deaths were recorded for the first quarter of the year 2023 of which outcome a sex ratio of death of 127 males per 100 females for the whole province of Laguna. Figure 2. Number of Registered Death by Sex, Laguna: First Quarter 2023 The mean monthly registered deaths were estimated to be 1,676. This means that almost 19 persons died every day during the first quarter of the year 2023.   Figure 3. Percent Distribution of Attendant at Death, Laguna: First Quarter 2023 Out of 5,027 registered deaths, 3,461 or 68.8% were attended by public health officer. It was followed by private physician with 1,368 or 27.2%, services of hospital authority comprised 0.8% or 42 registered deaths.     This report presents quarterly statistics on deaths that was registered in Laguna for the month of January to March year 2023. The data presented herein were obtained from the documents submitted by the Local Civil Registrars to the PSA Provincial Office and then processed thru DVSS2011 system.
