The data presented herein are based on the documents submitted by the local civil registrars of the province and consists of timely and delayed death registrations received for the year 2022. Reported deaths in 2022 reached 19,641. The figure showed a decrease of 8,138 or 29.3 percent lower than the previous year’s 27,779 deaths. In 2022, an average of 1,637 persons died daily. This translated to 2 deaths per hour or one (1) per minute. More males recorded to have succumbed to death with 56.72% (11,141) than females with 43.28% (8,500), thus resulting to a sex ratio of 134 males per 100 females in 2022.
