The number of deaths for the month of April 2023 reached a total of 1,452. This shows an increase by 4.5 percent from 1,389 deaths in April 2022. There was a daily average occurrence of 48 deaths or about 2 persons died per hour during this period.  More male deaths (779 or 53.7 percent) than female deaths (673 or 46.3 percent) during this period, resulting in a sex ratio of death of 116 males for every 100 females. Number of Registered Deaths by City/Municipality and by Sex, Laguna: April 2023   City of Calamba shows the highest recorded number of registered deaths at which accounts to 15.7 percent or 228 of the total number of deaths in the province.  This was followed by City of San Pablo with 191 deaths or 13.2 percent and City of Santa Rosa with 154 deaths or 10.6 percent registered during the month. On the other hand, municipality of Rizal has the lowest number with 4 registered deaths.  These shows 0.3 percent shares of the total deaths for the month of April 2023.   Table 1. Percent Distribution of Attendant at Death, Laguna: April 2023 Attendant refers to a private physician, public health officer, hospital authority, or any other allied health care provider who provided medical attendance to the deceased at the time of death. Out of 1,452 registered deaths, 981 or 67.6 percent of deaths were attended by public health officer. It was followed by private physicians with 429 deaths or 29.5 percent.
