The number of deaths for the month of May 2023 reached a total of 1,819. This shows an increase by 15.0 percent from 1,582 deaths in May 2022. There was a daily average occurrence of 59 deaths or about 2 persons died per hour during this period.  More male deaths (1,067 or 58.7 percent) than female deaths (752 or 41.3 percent) during this period, resulting in a sex ratio of death of 142 males for every 100 females. San Pablo City shows the highest recorded number of registered deaths at which accounts to 13.1 percent or 238 of the total number of deaths in the province.  This was followed by City of Calamba with 234 deaths or 12.9 percent and City of Santa Rosa with 194 deaths or 10.7 percent registered during the month. On the other hand, municipality of Rizal had the lowest number with 3 registered deaths.  These shows 0.2 percent shares of the total deaths for the month of May 2023. Figure 1. Number of Registered Deaths by City/Municipality and by Sex, Laguna: May 2023   Table 1 shows the distribution of death by age on both sexes of which years completed had the highest death rate of 98.0 percent. Number of Registered Deaths by Age   More male deaths than female deaths recorded The number of male deaths (1,067 or 58.7 percent share) was higher than female deaths (752 or 41.3 percent share) in May 2023. Percent Distribution of Registered Deaths by Sex Attendant refers to a private physician, public health officer, hospital authority, or any other allied health care provider who provided medical attendance to the deceased at the time of death. Out of 1,819 registered deaths, 1,283 or 71.0 percent of deaths were attended by public health officer. It was followed by private physicians with 475 deaths or 26.0 percent. Services of hospital authority comprised 1 percent with 18 registered deaths. However, others attendant registered at 35 deaths or 2.0 percent, none and not stated with 4 deaths or 0.2 percent of the total registered deaths. Figure 3.
