DVSS JANUARY 2023 (MARRIAGE STATISTICS RIZAL INDICATORS) This report summarizes the administrative data gathered from January 2023 documents submitted by the local civil registry offices of the thirteen municipalities and a city in the province of Rizal. The province generated the following statistics: One thousand one hundred thirty one (1,131) for marriage. This represents 11.12% decrease from the 1,414 registered vital events from the previous month. MARRIAGE STATISTICS Marriage is a special contract of permanent union between a man and a woman entered into in accordance with law for the establishment of conjugal and family life. As the table shows, month of December had 1,105 timely registered marriages compared to 1,385 of the previous month with a recorded decrease of 11.24 percent in registration. The city/municipality with the highest number of timely registered marriages was recorded in the City of Antipolo with 315 registered documents, followed by Taytay with 187 and Montalban with 129 registered marriages. (See table B.) The City of Antipolo having the highest registered marriages in the province of Rizal, documented Catholic marriages as the most officiated with two hundred eight (208) instances, as well as in Other Religious Rites with seventy nine (79) instances while Taytay in Civil Ceremonies with sixty nine (69) recorded events There was eleven (11) recorded widow on bride’s civil status and ten (10) widowers on the grooms. Province-wide, civil ceremonies initiated by the local chief executives in coordination with the municipal civil registrars including those solemnized by judges, recorded the highest number of registrations with 382 (34.57%). Ceremonies officiated by other religious sectors recorded 287 events or 25.97 percent. Roman Catholic ceremonies recorded 436 events or 39.46 percent. (refer to Figure II) Teen bride had ten (10) or 0.90% recorded marriages while three (3) or 0.27% on the groom recorded events this month. There was two (2) recorded groom who got married with age of 75 years old and over that tied the knot. The modal age group for groom and bride was at 25- 29 years old with 368 grooms and 442 brides (See Table C). In Rizal, there were 29 Filipinas married to foreign nationals that were registered in January 2023 (See table D).
