Lipa City reported the highest number of births with 2,022 or 18.04 percent of the total. This was followed by the cities of Batangas and Tanauan ranked second and third with 1,397 or 12.46 and 1,084 or 9.67 percent, respectively and Lemery with 929 or 8.29 percent ranked fourth and Bauan with 867 or 7.73 percent ranked fifth. However, municipalities of Alitagtag with 10 or 0.09 and Sta. Teresita with 7 or 0.06 live births reported the lowest registration. Births attended by health professionals (physicians, nurses and midwives) decreased from 87.09 percent (11,209) in the third quarter to 91.39 (12,076) in the same previous quarter, while births attended by “hilots” increased from 12.53 percent (1,405) to 8.12 percent (981) in the previous quarter. Meanwhile, Cities of Lipa and Tanauan showed the highest birth deliveries attended by traditional birth attendant (hilot/ unlicensed midwife) of 19.07 and 14.88 percent, respectively.
