The country celebrates the National Nutrition Month in July, an annual event spearheaded by the National Nutrition Council (NNC) as mandated by Section 7 of Presidential Decree 491 or the Nutrition Act of the Philippines.   2. This annual celebration is now on its 46th year with the theme, "Batang Pinoy SANA TALL... Iwas Stunting SAMA ALL! Iwas ALL din sa COVID-19". The campaign aims to promote awareness and mobilize actions to address stunting. Through this campaign, it is intended that families would be able to understand that stunting is not only a problem of being short but it also has implications on children's cognitive development.   3.The 2020 Nutrition Month Celebration highlights the prevention of stunting among children through collective efforts in ensuring access of families to adequately nutritious food. For a meaningful and successful celebration, your office is enjoined to actively participate by considering the following activities:   a. Posting of streamers or posters about the Nutrition Month celebration in official websites and/or Facebook page; b. Conduct of webinars and other fora to discuss the Nutrition Month theme; c. Promotion and dissemination of correct information to raise awareness on stunting among children through print, social media, TV and radio programs, and other media; d. Participation in activities related to Nutrition Month celebration at the national, regional, or local level; and e. Conduct of such other activities that would promote the participation of government and non-government organizations in raising awareness on stunting.   4. Kindly inform the National Economic and Development Authority N-Social Development Staff (NEDA-SDS) through sds-hnpd@neda.gov.ph of the activities your office has undertaken during the month-long celebration. These will be consolidated for submission to the NNC.   5. Materials for information, education, and communication may be accessed through the NNC website (www.nnc.gov.ph).
