Marriage Statistics: January 2019 Quezon (Preliminary Results)

Vital registration is a continuous process. Hence there is a need to specify certain cut-off period for purposes of reporting. The Marriage Statistics in Quezon presented in this report contains highlights and summary of statistical tables of marriages that occurred on or before January 2019 and registered within the said month. Events that occurred in January 2019 but were not registered during the month were not included in this publication. For this report, Decentralized Vital Statistics System (DVSS) 2011 was used in data encoding. In the generation of DVSS tables however, CSPro 7.1 was utilized. Number of Marriages… A total of 997 marriages were registered in Quezon in January 2019. It recorded an increase of 1.6 percent from the previous month’s total of 981. The daily average of registered marriages during the month was 32, the same with the recorded daily average in December 2018. Marriages by Place of Occurrence… Sariaya (120 or 12.0 percent) had the highest number of registered marriages. It was followed by Lucena City (114 or 11.4 percent). Tiaong (86 or 8.6 percent) and Candelaria (68 or 6.8 percent) recorded the next highest registered marriages. More than one-third of the 41 municipalities/cities in the province registered less than 10 marriage occurrences during the month. There was no marriage event recorded in the island municipality of Patnanungan. Marriages by Type of Ceremony… Most of the registered marriages were solemnized under church rites, with 664 or 66.6 percent. Marriages performed under civil ceremonies totaled 270 accounting for 27.1 percent of the total registered marriages. Marriages celebrated under other types of ceremonies comprised only 6.3 percent.
