The population of Taysan as of 01 July 2024 is 41,332 based on the 2024 Census of Population (2024 POPCEN). This accounts for about 1.38 percent of Batangas population in 2024.
The 2024 population of Taysan is higher by 1,186 from the population of 40,146 in 2020, and 41,332 more than the population of 38,007 in 2015. Moreover, it is higher by 5,975 compared with the population of 35,357 in 2010. and 11,496 more than the population of 29,836 in 2000. (Table 1)
The population of Taysan decreased by 0.70 percent annually from 2020 to 2024. By comparison, the rate at which the population of the municipality also declined from 2015 to 2020 was higher at 1.16 percent. (Table 2
Among the twenty (20) barangays of Taysan, Dagatan had the biggest population in 2024 with 3,823 persons, followed by Mahanadiong with 2,945, and San Isidro with 2,771 persons. (Table 3)
Mahanadiong was the fastest growing barangay in the municipality with an annual population growth rate (PGR) of 6.64 percent from 2020 to 2024. It was followed by Bukal with a PGR of 3.54, Tilambo with 3.14 percent, Pinagbayanan with 2.59 percent, and Panghayaan with 2.15 percent. Poblacion East posted the lowest barangay PGR of -12.58.
Among barangays of Taysan, the largest in terms of population size is Dagatan with 3,823 persons, followed by Mapulo with 3,345 persons, Mahanadiong with 2,945 persons, San Isidro with 2,771 persons, and Santo Niño with 2,602 persons. (Table 5)
Poblacion East has the smallest population with 498 persons, followed by Poblacion West with 767 persons, and Bacao with 911 persons. (Table 6)
