The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) announced that based on the 2024 Census of Population (2024 POPCEN), the total population of Batangas as of 01 July 2024 is 2,994,795. 

This count has been declared official for all purposes by the President of the Philippines through Proclamation No.973 dated 11 July 2025. Pursuant to Republic Act No. 10625, or the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013, and Executive Order No.87, s.2025. These mandate the conduct of periodic census to provide government planners, policymakers, and administrators with essential data for crafting social and economic development plans and programs.

The Batangas population figure reflects the total number of persons living in the 34 cities/municipalities of the province as of 12:01 AM on 01 July 2024. It also included Filipinos in Philippine embassies, consulates, and missions abroad.

Compared to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH), Batangas population in 2024 increased by 86.3 thousand from 2,908,494 million in 2020. Batangas population growth rate (PGR) slowed to 0.70 percent annually from 2020 to 2024. The rate at which the province population grew from 2015 to 2020 was higher at 1.62 percent. 

Of the 34 cities/municipalities in Batangas, City of Lipa recorded the largest population in 2024 with 387, 392 thousand, followed by Batangas City with 358,267 thousand and City of Sto. Tomas with 226,772 thousand. The combined population of these three cities accounts for about 32 percent of Batangas population. Four other city/municipalities recorded population exceeding one hundred thousand in 2024.

The least populated municipality is Tingloy with 15,866 thousand or about 0.53 percent of the total population of the province. 

Among barangays in Batangas province, the largest in terms of population size is San Vicente with 27,695 persons. It was followed by Sabang with 23,674 persons, and Darasa with 22,749 persons. (Table 3)
