The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Quezon was invited to join the celebration of the 27th Commemoration of the Indigenous Peoples’ Right Act  on October 10, 2024 held at Dumagat Ecolodge, sitio Masla, Barangay Sablang, General Nakar Quezon. The activity was attended by various IPs tribal community - Katutubong Dumagat, Katutubong Remontado, Katutubong Aeta, Katutubong Manide and Katutubong Sama Badjao all over Quezon province.

To ensure the inclusion of Indigenous People to Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), PSA Quezon took the effort in making the registration accessible through onsite mobile registration. IP registrants were able to register to PhilSys using tribal certification issued by the National  Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP). Other PhilSys services such as printing of ePhilID, Transaction Reference Number (TRN) verification and demonstration on how to download the Digital National ID were also provided.

During the event, PSA Quezon also conducted a short orientation on the use and benefits of National ID and how they can utilize PhilID in claiming benefits for social protection programs. PSA reminded the public that the three (3) formats of National ID (physical card, ePhilID and Digital National ID) has the same validity and functionality and must be accepted in all transactions requiring proof of identity. With this, PSA encouraged all unregistered individuals to register to PhilSys and take advantage to have a free and valid government issued ID. PSA continues to prioritize IP registration within the province. Based on records there are four thousand seventy-one (4,071) IPs registered to PhilSys as of September 2024.
