The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) successfully turned over the data from the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) to the local government of Perez, Quezon. Perez was among the LGUs who joined the CBMS roll-out in 2022. The ceremonial activity was held today, December 20, 2023 at Perez, Quezon. This noteworthy event was made possible and realized as a result of the collaborative efforts of the PSA and the local government of Perez and constituents.

Attending officials included the following: Municipal Mayor of Perez, Honorable Charizze Marie E. Escalona, MPDC EnP Philda L. Potes, RSSO 4A Chief Statistical Specialist Benigno F. Perido, and Supervising Statistical Specialist Normita D. Pagkatipunan. Also in attendance were the Department Heads of Perez, Quezon and other PSA and LGU personnel.

There were 2,376 responding households with a total of 9,525 individuals covered in the CBMS. Senior Statistical Specialist Margarita G. Cada presented  the  highlights of the results from the  Household  and  Barangay Profile Questionnaire which included the basic services such as electricity, internet, water, toilet facilities, safety, food insecurity, and disaster preparedness, among others. The LGU can now use the data derived from the CBMS for program planning and policy formulation, according to SrSS Cada.

Mayor Escalona, in her acceptance message, said “…Una po ay nagpapasalamat kami sa PSA dahil nabigyan kami ng pagkakataon na maging PSA funded ang CBMS, dahil kung sakali man pong maging lokal ang pagpopondo ay hindi po kakayanin ng aming bayan, kaya maraming salamat po, at lahat naman ng data na nakolekta ay alam ko po na magiging kagaanan sa lokal na pamahalaan para makita namin kung ano talaga ang kailangan ng aming mga kababayan. Magiging gabay namin ito para sa mga kasunod na programa namin ay masigurado namin na kung ano man yung nakalagay sa data na ibinigay ninyo ay yun ang magiging tuntungan namin para maibigay namin ang mas kalidad na serbisyo para sa aming mga kababayan. Asahan po ninyo na lahat po ng data na nakapaloob sa system ay iingatan namin at gagamitin namin sa kaparaanan para sa kaluwagan ng aming mga kababayan. Muli salamat po sa PSA sa pagkakaloob ng ganitong programa”.
