Number of Construction

The number of constructions based on the approved building permits in Cavite for the month of February 2024 recorded a total of 1,070. The most number of buildings built was recorded at City of Dasmariñas with 152. It was followed by Trece Martires City with 138 buildings and City of General Trias with 126 buildings.
The lowest buildings constructed with only four is at General Emilio Aguinaldo.

Residential had the highest number of constructions

Six hundred ninety-two buildings or 64.67 percent of the total numbers of constructions are residential. Table 1 shows that Trece Martires City reported the most number of residential buildings built with 132 followed by the City of Dasmariñas with 114 residential constructions as presented in Table 1. The least number of buildings build was reported at General Emilio Aguinaldo with only three. Majority of the residential construction are single-type houses with 515 reported constructions as displayed in Table 1.

Meanwhile, out of the 90 non-residential constructions, 76 are commercial buildings. Alfonso, City of Dasmariñas and City of General Trias has the most number of non-residential building accounted for 12 buildings each as shown in Figure 1. There are no agricultural and other non-residential buildings constructed during the month.

Number Construction by Scope of Work

City of General Trias has the most addition constructions with 60 followed by Tanza with 29 and City of Imus with 31. The municipalities of Alfonso, Amadeo, General Emilio Aguinaldo, Indang, Magallanes and Noveleta had no reported new construction projects.

The City of Bacoor with 22 reported alterations and repairs, followed by the cities of Dasmariñas and General Trias with 11 each. There is only one building alteration and repair reported in the municipalities of Mendez-Nuñez and Naic.

Tanza recorded the highest with 22 street furniture, landscaping and signboard construction during the month. Both cities of Bacoor and General Trias has two while Cavite City, Naic, Silang, Tagaytay City and General Mariano Alvarez has one each.
 

There is no demolition of buildings reported in the province during the month.

VALUE OF CONSTRUCTIONS

Value of Construction

The total value of construction amounts to P3,013,272.00 wherein the residential type recorded the highest value of constructions at P1,480,767.00 or 49.14 percent or almost half of the total value.

The value of non-residential constructions, which amounted to P1,361,766.00 shared a 45.16 percent or almost half of the total value. On the other hand, the value of construction for addition, alteration and repair and street furniture amounts to P94,502.00 (3.14%), P76,237.00 (2.53%) and P14,791.00 (0.49%), respectively.

City of General Trias amounted the highest value of constructions

City of General Trias reported the highest values of constructions amounting to P821,593.00. The value of non-residential buildings in the city amounts to P695,808.00 which is 84.04 percent of its total value.

Meanwhile, City of Dasmariñas has the second highest value of constructions amounting to P358,262.00. It also has the highest value in the residential buildings amounting to P285,896.00.

FLOOR AREA

Reported total floor area of constructions
The total floor area of constructions in February 2024 was recorded at 222,860 square meters. City of General Trias has the largest floor area with 37,500 sq.m. followed by Tanza and City of Dasmariñas with 36,407 sq.m. and 32,008 sq.m., respectively.

Residential comprised more than half of the total area of constructions
Non-residential accounted for 90,981 sq.m. or 40.83 percent of the total floor area of construction in February 2024. On the other hand, residential recorded 123,949 sq.m. or 55.62 percent of the total floor area construction.

SUMMARY

The total number of buildings under construction it the province in February 2024 was 1,070; 64.67 percent or 692 of the total number of building constructed were residential structures, 8.41 percent of 90 were non-residential buildings, 18.60 percent or 199 were addition, 8.32 percent or 89 were alteration and repair and the remaining 2.90 percent or 31 were street furniture/landscaping and signboard construction.

City of Dasmariñas had the most buildings built with 152 buildings. Residential type recorded the highest value of construction at P1,480,767.00 accounting for 49.14 percent of the total value. The value of non-residential constrictions, which amounted to P1,361,766.00 accounted for 45.16 percent of the total value.

City of General Trias has the largest floor area with 37,500 sq.m. This was followed by Tanza and City of Dasmariñas with 36,407 sq.m. and 32,008 sq.m., respectively.
