Live births… A total of 2,791 live births were registered in the province in July 2021. It recorded a decrease of 0.3 percent from the June figure of 2,799. The daily average of birth occurrences during the month was 90. Of the total births registered, 52.1 percent were males and 47.9 percent were females. This resulted to a birth sex ratio of 109 males for every 100 females. Lucena City recorded the highest number of live births with a total of 683 or 24.5 percent of the total births registered in the province. It was followed by Candelaria with a total of 240 or 8.6 percent and Lopez with 217 or 7.8 percent. The least number of registered births were observed in the municipalities of Perez, Pitogo and Plaridel (all with 1 or 0.04 percent). Legitimacy Status… More than half of the total births registered during the month (1,833 or 65.7 percent) were born illegitimate. The highest number of registered live births with illegitimate status was born to mothers aged 20-24 (616 or 33.6 percent) followed by those born to mothers aged 25-29 (450 or 24.5 percent). Generally, the percentage of babies born illegitimate was inversely proportional to the age group of mothers. The higher the percentage of babies born illegitimate, the younger was the age group to which the mothers belonged. Teenage mothers recorded the highest percentage (92.3 percent) of babies born out of wedlock. Most of the municipalities and cities of Quezon registered high percentages of births with illegitimate status.
A total of 3,685 live births were registered in the province in January 2024. It recorded an increase of 8.5 percent from the December 2023 figure of 3,397.
This special release presents gender statistics on vital events such as birth, marriage and death for the 1st Semestral 2024 in the Province of Cavite.
