PSA-Quezon Bags 3rd Best PSO in the 2017 PSA Awards

PSA-Quezon was proclaimed as 3rd Best Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) in the country during the just concluded 2017 Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Field Awards held on 23 March 2018 at the Heritage Hotel Manila, EDSA, Pasay City. Aside from garnering the 3rd Place in the Provincial category, PSA-Quezon also received two special awards : 1st Placer in Financial, Human Resource and Administrative Service category and 2nd Place winner in Information Dissemination category. The three awards were received by Ms. Airene A. Pucyutan, PSA-Quezon Provincial Statistics Officer, from the PSA Awards Committee led by Undersecretary Lisa Grace S. Bersales, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General during the awarding ceremonies. It was attended by the PSA officials from various Regional and Provincial Offices including those from the central office. The other categories in the PSA Awards are Partnership and Linkages, Statistical Frameworks and Indicators System, Statistical Planning and Coordination, and Statistical Operations. The PSA Awards is an incentive system for the PSA regional and provincial offices to motivate the field offices to perform quality output in mandated activities and to conduct programs to support and promote its mission and vision. It also aims to increase PSA visibility not only among subnational and local government agencies but also with the private sector. The PSA Awards centers on efficiency, innovativeness, creativity, and productivity of the field offices. It is dynamic wherein its criteria, weights and documentation requirements are revised from time to time depending on the priorities of the office and improvements in monitoring. The PSA has 17 Regional Offices and 81 Provincial Statistical Offices in the country, including those in the National Capital Region. Due to its steadfast commitment in the enhancement of its products and services, PSA-Quezon has always been among the top performing Provincial Statistical Offices as far as PSA Awards is concerned.
