In a concerted effort to promote inclusive identification system and streamline government services, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Batangas, in collaboration with the Office of the Municipal Registrar of the Municipality of Lobo, embarked on a successful PhilSys registration drive in Barangay Apar, Lobo last April 25, 2024.
The initiative aimed to register residents for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) and to issue ePhilID. With the support of the Office of the Municipal Registrar of Lobo, a team from PhilSys/PSA Batangas set up a one-day operation in Barangay Apar, overcoming logistical challenges to ensure inclusivity. Through this partnership, residents from different barangays in the municipality took advantage of the convenience to register for PhilSys.
Situated as one of the farthest barangays in the municipality, Barangay Apar witnessed the efficient execution of the registration drive. A total of 38 individuals were successfully registered in PhilSys, with 19 ePhilIDs issued on-site, providing residents with a tangible proof of their registration.
The collaborative effort between PSA Batangas and the Office of the Municipal Registrar of Lobo underscores the commitment to ensuring the success and inclusivity of PhilSys initiatives at the grassroots level. The Municipality of Lobo, known for its cooperative spirit, has consistently supported PhilSys initiatives, demonstrating a shared vision for a digitally empowered society.
In addition to PhilSys registration, the Municipal Registrar's Office conducted PhilSys Birth Registration Assistant services simultaneously, catering to residents who had not yet registered their birth, further enhancing the drive's impact and reach within the community.
As the nation strides towards greater efficiency and digital innovation, partnerships like these exemplify the synergy between government agencies and local communities. The successful registration drive in Barangay Apar, Lobo serves as a testament to the collective commitment towards realizing the vision of a single identification system.
