The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Quezon is currently conducting the January 2023 Labor Force Survey. It is a nationwide survey of households  conducted by the PSA to gather data on demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population. It provides information as basis for the formulation of policies and programs to crea te and generate gainful employment and livelihood opportunities, reduce unemployment and underemployment, and enhance the welfare of workers. The January 2023 LFS round will be used to measure the continuing effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on labor and employment in the country. It also includes questions about the household member’s engagement in online platform, functional difficulty and migration experience which can be used as inputs to the migration rates computation for the generation/updating of population projection. There are 635 households/housing units in Quezon to be covered for these surveys. These are located in 16 sample municipalities and 2 cities of the province. Three (3) regular statistical staff and five (10) Statistical Researchers (SRs) are involved in the conduct of the said survey. The Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) data collection method will be employed for this survey with the use of the android tablets. The information collected shall be treated with utmost confidentiality as mandated under Section 26 of the Republic Act 10625. Those who will refuse to reply to the said survey, however, shall be imposed with the penalty of imprisonment and a heavy fine as stipulated under Section 27 of the same law.
