PRESS RELEASE: PSA Quezon Conducts the 2021 Survey of Innovation Activities

Philippine Statistics Authority will undertake the 2021 Survey of Innovation Activities (SIA) of Establishments. This is the third round of survey to be conducted on the innovation activities of establishments, the second round was in 2015. Information on innovation shall provide a better understanding of the innovative behavior and activities of firms. The 2021 SIA of establishments aims to examine the innovative performance of economic actors across all major sectors of the economy, including the extent of the platform economy, and for providing internationally comparable data on innovation that are systems-oriented and policy-relevant in the Philippine setting.The data can also encourage researchers and academic institutions to conduct more research and policy analysis on local innovation processes. There are 183 sample establishments in Quezon Province for SIA. These are located in 27 sample municipalities and 2 cities of the province. Fifteen (15) regular statistical staff are involved in the conduct of the said survey. Sample establishments are given options on how they can respond to the survey. They can utilize an electronic copy of the questionnaire either in portable document format (pdf) or Excel file format or accomplish the printed copy of the questionnaires distributed by authorized data collectors of PSA. Provincial Statistics Officer Airene A. Pucyutan requests for the cooperation of the establishments to give accurate and reliable information necessary to provide a quantitative framework for the preparation of plans and formulation of policies for the economy.
