PRESS RELEASE: 2022 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Data Turnover Ceremony in Plaridel, Quezon

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) successfully turned over the data from the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) to the local government of Plaridel, Quezon. Plaridel was one among the LGUs who joined the CBMS roll-out in 2022. The ceremonial activity was held today 20 September 2023 at Plaridel Hall. This noteworthy event was made possible and realized as a result of the collaborative efforts of the PSA and the local government of Plaridel and constituents. Attending officials included the following: Municipal Mayor of Plaridel Honorable Jose A. Saavedra, and Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator EnP. Maria Celita P. Forbes, RSSO 4A Regional Director Charito C. Armonia, Chief Statistical Specialist Airene A. Pucyutan, and Supervising Statistical Specialist Analisa T. Piad. Also in attendance were Provincial Planning and Development Coordination Office PDO II Emmanuel S. Querubin, Department Heads of Plaridel and other PSA and LGU personnel. There were 2,656 responding households with a total of 10,640 Plaridelians covered in the CBMS. Senior Statistical Specialist Margarita G. Cada presented the highlights of the results from the Barangay Profile Questionnaire. The LGU can now use the data derived from the CBMS for program planning and policy formulation, according to SrSS Cada. Mayor Saavedra, in his acceptance message, expressed his gratitude to the PSA for funding the municipality of Plaridel in the conduct of CBMS. He also commended the field staff and supervisors of the CBMS for their contribution to the successful conduct of the activity. He emphasized that the data gathered from CBMS will serve as their starting point in their development plans and programs and that they will take precautions to maintain the privacy of CBMS data.
