The Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office IV-A conducted the Monitoring and Tracking of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Pace of Progress Forum last May 23-24, 2023 in Lipa City, Batangas. The forum aims to establish the UN ESCAP SDG Tracker in the region as well as discuss, the pressing issues and concerns about the data availability of Core SDG Indicators to better monitor and track the pace of progress in pursuing sustainable development.     The forum was participated by representatives from various Regional Line Agencies, Local Government Units and Provincial Statistics Offices in CALABARZON.    Statistical Specialist II Dustin Adriel V. Sulat, and Statistical Analyst Alenna Mae S. Lampitoc from the Poverty and Human Development Statistics Division, Social Sector Statistics Service of the PSA served as the resource speakers who presented the monitoring of the Philippine SDG indicators, and introduced the use of the UN ESCAP national SDG tracker and demonstrated the estimation of time distance measure. On the other hand, Ms. Lou Darlence O. Mitra, Statistical Specialist II of PSA IV-A presented the data collection form to be used by agencies in updating the Core Regional SDG Indicators.    Monitoring of CAR’s regional SDG indicators and CAR's Experience in reporting the regional SDG performance using the UN ESCAP SDG Tracker which was shared by Chief Statistical Specialist Aldrin Federico R. Bahit, Jr., and Statistical Analyst Jansenn Rexxus F. Banaña, of PSA Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) also served as a learning guidance for the stakeholders in CALABARZON in establishing their own monitoring tool. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is a plan of action for people planet and prosperity. It also seeks to strengthen universal peace in larger freedom. All countries and all stakeholders, acting in collaborative partnership will implement this plan.   “So much are needed to be done but as we heed to the call for actions as stakeholders and we work together as a team, our dream of attaining the SDGs at least for our region CALABARZON will come to reality in the near future. Let us continue to strengthen our capacity in generating reliable data not just for tracking the pace of progress but more importantly for evidence-based decisions and policies.”, Chief Statistical Specialist Benigno F.
