DVSS MAY 2023 (DEATH STATISTICS RIZAL INDICATORS) This report summarizes the administrative data gathered from May 2023 documents submitted by the local civil registry offices of the thirteen municipalities and a city in the province of Rizal. The province generated the following statistics: One thousand and four hundred eighty one (1,481) for death. This represents 10.6% increase from the 1,197 registered vital events from the previous month. DEATH STATISTICS The province generated 1,453 timely registered deaths for the month of May 2023. Antipolo City was on the top with three hundred forty two (342) deaths, followed by Montalban and with One hundred ninety five (195) deaths and Binangonan with one hundred ninety two (192). Municipality of Baras has the least number of deaths with fourteen (14). Records showed that there were 52 timely infant deaths in total. City of Antipolo and Montalban with thirteen (13) infant deaths each. Meanwhile, Cardona, Jalajala, Tanay and Teresa have no registered documents on infant deaths. The modal age group for the number of timely registered deaths was at 65 to 69 years old with 184 occurrences in May 2023. Five hundred and ninety seven or 41.09 percent of the registered deaths in the province died in their homes, whereas about 842 or 57.95 percent passed away in hospitals and 14 or 0.96 percent were deceased in places other than those mentioned above. Forty two point nineteen percent has been medically attended by the physicians, public health officer and in hospital before they pass away. Based on the graph, the highest number of deaths for Male was at age 65 to 69 years old tying with 107 total deaths. On the other hand; at the highest number of deaths for Female was on an age of 70 to 74 years old tying also with a total of 86 deaths (See Figure IV). For the month of May 2023, male had the highest number of registered deaths compared to the number of deaths of the female. In terms of the civil status, 31.36% were single, 44.21% were married, 24.34% were widow/widower and 0.08% were divorced. With regard to corpse disposal, 84.47% of death went through burial, 15.53% were cremated.
