This special release presents statistical data on births occurring for the month of February 2023 in the Province of Cavite. This publication shows the disaggregated data of live births by sex and by registration status down to city/municipal level. It also presents the total registered live births by legitimacy status, place type and attendant- at-birth. The civil registry documents transmitted by the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) to Cavite Provincial Office for machine processing served as the source of data in preparation of this publication.   Births in Cavite   Table 1 shows that there were 4,918 registered live births in the Province of Cavite for the month of February 2023. Male births accounted for 49.1% or 2,413 of the total births while female births accounted for 50.9% or 2,505. Females were higher by 92 than males. Two (2) cities and six (6) municipalities recorded more males than females. These were as follows: City of Dasmariñas and City of General Trias and municipalities of Amadeo, Carmona, Kawit, Mendez, Naic, and Ternate. The same number of male and female births were registered in the municipality of General Emilio Aguinaldo.   Majority of the registered live births were from City of Dasmariñas with 777 births composed of 396 males and 381 females. This was followed by City of Bacoor and Trece Martires City with 648 and 555 registered live births, respectively. The least registered live births were recorded in Ternate and Amadeo with both 18, followed by Alfonso and General Emilio Aguinaldo with 25 and 26 births, respectively.   Table 2 shows that 68.4% or 3,363 were timely registered and 31.6% or 1,555 were late registered. Timely registered births were higher by 1,808 compared to late registered births. Majority were registered within the reglementary period of 30 days.   Silang had the highest percentage of timely registered births with 80.9% or 293 out of 362 total registered births, followed by Carmona with 80.3% or 53 out of 66 total registered births and Trece Martires City with 77.7% or 431 out of 555 registered births.  Magallanes had the highest percentage of late registered births with 71.9% or 23 out of 32 registered births, followed by Rosario with 62.6% or 57 out of 91 registered births and Amadeo with 61.1% or 11 out of 18 registered births.   Figure 1 shows that 3,487 or 70.9% were non-marital births or babies born out-of-wedlock and 1,431 or 29.1% were marital births. Non-marital births were higher by 2,056.   Figure 2 shows that babies born in Health Facility had a total of 3,866, of which 1,938 were males and 1,928 were females. Babies born at Home had a total of 1,051 comprised of 475 males and 576 females. The remaining one (1) female birth had no place type of occurrence stated on the birth certificate.   Figure 3 shows that majority of birth deliveries were attended by Physician with a total of 2,218 of which 1,090 were males and 1,128 were females, followed by Midwife with 1,696 composed of 875 males and 821 females and Unlicensed Midwife with 853, composed of 365 male births and 488 female births. Nurse had attended a total of 130 births of which 73 were males and 57 were females. Others had 20 birth deliveries composed of 10 male and female births. The remaining one (1) female birth had no attendant-at-birth stated on the birth certificate.   Summary   A total of 4,918 live births were registered on the month of February 2023 in the Province of Cavite. Female births were predominant in most cities/municipalities. Females outnumbered males by 92. The highest number of registered births came from the City of Dasmariñas with 777 and the least came from Ternate and Amadeo both with 18 live births only. Timely registered births were higher than late registered births. There were also more non-marital births compared to marital births. Majority of birth deliveries occurred on a Health Facility and the most common attendant-at-birth was Physician.
