Inflation Rates in Rizal, All Items (2018 = 100) (Kindly see attached) The inflation rate for Rizal for All Items increased to 9.1 percent in December 2022 from 8.5 percent in November 2022. For the month-on-month comparison, the uptrend in overall inflation was mainly due to an increase in the index of "Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco” from 14.1 to 15.9 percent. Restaurant and Accommodation Services " and “Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages” also contributed to the uptrend, posting an increase of 1.4 and 1.2 index differences from 6.6 to 8.0 percent and 11.5 from 12.7 percent respectively. “Furnishings, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance “also increased by 0.8 percent, from 3.9 to 4.7 index. Health, Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas, and Other Fuels had index differences of 0.5, and 0.4, from the previous month. Further, Clothing and Footwear, as well as Recreation Sports and Culture, each differed by 0.1 index points. Meanwhile, transport decreased by -0.7 percentage points from 17.1 to 16.4 percent. The inflation rate of “Information and Communication”, “Education Services”, and “Financial Services” remained stable during the month. Table 2. Consumer Price Index of Commodity Groups in Rizal: (December 2022 and 2021) The CPI of Rizal for all items was 123.4, an increase of 10.3 points from last year's index of 113.1 The highest increase in the index was 24.8 points for "Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco," from 156.3 in December last year to 181.1 in December this year. Second in rank was “Transport,” which rose from 122.0 to 142.0 index points. Furthermore, the index for "Food and NonAlcoholic Beverages" increased from 115.8 to 130.5 with a 14.7-point gain. Similarly, the annual increase in "Restaurant and Accommodation Services” and "Health" was at 9.3 and 8.6 points from 116.7 to 126.0 and from 112.5 to 121.1 points respectively. “Personal Care, Miscellaneous Goods and Services" was at 6.4 points from 108.2 to 114.6. “Furnishings, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance” was at 5.2 points. “Housing Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels” recorded 4.1 index points; “Recreation, Sport and Culture” registered 2.6 points from 110.6 to 113.2; “Clothing and Footwear “with 1.8 percent, “Information and Communication” with 1.2 percent and “Education Services” with 1.1 percent. “Financial Services” index remained stable at 146.0 index level Figure 3. For this month, Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco moved up by 3.4 points. An increase of 1.6 index difference was observed in Restaurant and Accommodation Services, while Food and Non- Alcoholic Beverages and Furnishings Household Equipment and Household Maintenance both had 1.1 index difference. Housing, Water and Electricity had 0.9 and Health with 0.5 index difference. Clothing and Footwear, Recreation, Sport and Culture and Personal Care Miscellaneous Goods and Services had 0.2 index. Information and Communication, Education Services and Financial Services remain unchanged
