PSA QUEZON PREPARES FOR PROVINCIAL PRODUCT ACCOUNTS ESTIMATES FOR RELEASE ON DECEMBER 2022 PSA Quezon headed by Provincial Statistics Officer Airene A. Pucyutan, together with PPA staff led by Statistical Specialist II Emerose A. Dalwampo, and its members Statistical Analyst Patricia Faye V. Misula and Statistical Analyst (COSW) Irene Joyce C. Avila, conducted the Consultation Workshop with Stakeholders and Validation of the PPA Benchmark Estimates at St. Jude Cooperative Hotel and Event Center, Brgy Isabang, City of Tayabas, last June 27, 2022. It was held simultaneously in all provinces of Region 4A with the personnel from the Macroeconomics Accounts Service - Subnational Economic Accounts Division (MAS-SEAD) of PSA Central Office as the facilitators. PSA Quezon Sets Up PhilSys Registration Sites for Indigenous People The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) conducts mobile registration for various groups of Indigenous Peoples (IPs) in the province. The most recent one was carried out in the island municipality of Polillo last June 25 to June 27, 2022, with Dumagat-Remontado communities. There were one hundred eight (108) DumagatRemontado who registered to PhilSys in this municipality. The on-site registration is a continuing endeavor of the PSA which started in 2021. In coordination with the Local Government Units, PSA Quezon PhilSys Registration Teams have successfully conducted several onsite registrations in the municipalities of Alabat (50 Aeta), Buenavista (578 Aeta), Burdeos (300 Dumagat), Catanauan (1,120 Aeta), General Nakar (300 Dumagat), Lopez (92 Aeta) Lucena City (512 Badjao), Perez (90 Aeta), Polillo (108 Dumagat-Remontado), and Real (20 Aeta). So far, a total of 3,170 IPs benefitted in this project Updates on PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project Implementation in Quezon Among the major programs implemented by PSA Quezon for 2022 is the PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project (PBRAP). The objective of PBRAP is to intensify campaign in improving civil registration which is aligned with the goal of the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) decade that by 2024 at least 99.5% of all Filipinos have their births registered. Priority in the registration are the Indigenous Peoples (IP), Muslim Filipinos, and the poorest sector covering all the cities/municipalities in the province. PSA Quezon launched this project in February 2022 with five birth registration agents assigned in the municipalities of Infanta, Macalelon and Mauban, and Lucena City. PBRAP in Quezon province aims to register a total of 42,394 beneficiaries before the year ends where beneficiaries will receive their Certificate of Live Birth (COLB) in security paper (SECPA) free of charge. As of July 11, 2022, a total of 6,831 names were submitted by various Local Civil Registry Offices to verify their birth registration status. Currently, 29 out of 41 cities and municipalities in Quezon have Memorandum of Agreement with PSA under PBRAP.
