Agmaris Wholesale Prices July 2021   The Agriculture Marketing Information System is a platform to enhance food market transparency and policy response for food security. This provides monthly update on various commodities that are commonly grown in the province of Rizal. The objectives are to improve the information for analysis and short-term supply and demand forecasts for provincial, regional and national levels; to collect and analyse data for policy making; and to report on critical conditions of food markets.   The July 2021 issue presents the latest preliminary updates on the average wholesale prices of different agricultural commodities (cereals, root crops, beans and legumes, condiments, fruit vegetables, leafy vegetables, fruits, and fish) and its comparison from the previous month and previous year.   CEREALS   Most of the registered cereals prices increase compared to their prices in the last month.With highest increase of 2.99 percent on Rice Special from 48.90 to 50.36 pesos.   Relative tothe prices in 2020, all of the wholesale prices increases wherein Regular Milled Rice (RMR) obtained the highest increase of 8.20 percent, from Php 33.55 to Php 36.30.   In Figure 1 most of the cereal prices increases compared to last year July 2020.   ROOT CROPS   Radish and sweet potato are the only registered root crop commodities in Rizal for the past 12 months.   The wholesale price of radish increase by 17.02 percent, from Php 45.13 to Php 52.81 in July 2021.   Sweet potato increases its price by 10.41 percent Php 25.94 to 28.64 pesos as compared to last month.   Relative to the same period in the previous year, radish and sweet potota increases their prices.   The price of radish and sweet potato increases their price for this month of July 2021 compared to last year July 2020.   CONDIMENTS   The wholesale price of ginger hawaiian decreases compared to its prices last month. The price of ginger hawaiian at Php 102.39 decrease by 1.99 percent from the last month’s level at Php 104.47.   LEAFY VEGETABLES   Pechay native is the only recorded leafy vegetable in Rizal province for the last 12 months.   From July average wholesale price at Php 67.50, up by 6.79 percent at Php 63.21 last June 2021.   As compared to the price at Php 40.29 to 67.50 of the same period last year, the wholesale price increases by 67.54 percent.   FRUIT VEGETABLES   The price of Squash marks the highest increase at Php 16.44 to 25.57 from last month’s level.   Relative to the same period last year, the prices of Eggplant, has a largest increase of 76.99 percent.   All of the wholesale price of fruit vegetables increases compared to last year base price Eggplant marks the highest with Php 22.25 to 39.38 with 76.99 percent mark.   FRUITS   As compared to the wholesale prices of fruits last month, most of the fruit prices increases. The average wholesale prices of fruits with a largest increase compared to the prices last month was observed is in Banana, Saba, Ripe with 3.25 percent change.   Papaya, Hawaiian marks the highest decrease from 25.00 to 39.06 with 56.24 percent movement compares to July 2020 price.   FISHERIES   Fish commodities last month, Bangus decreases and Tilapia increases their prices.   From Php 132.08 to 131.60 with 0.36 percent for Bangus and Tilapia 42.83 to 46.93 pesos of 9.57 percent respectively.   As compared to their prices in the same period last year, the prices of Bangus increases by 104.76 percent and Tilapia by 63.69 percent, respectively.
