PRESS RELEASE Highlights of Lipa City 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH) • The population of Lipa City as of 01 May 2020 is 372,931 based on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH). This accounts for about 12.82 percent of Batangas population in 2020. • The 2020 population of Lipa City is higher by 40,545 from the population of 332,386 in 2015, and 89,463 more than the population of 283,468 in 2010. Moreover, it is higher by 154,484 compared with the population of 218,447 in 2000. (Table 1) • The population of Lipa City increased by 2.45 percent annually from 2015 to 2020. By comparison, the rate at which the population of the city/municipality grew from 2010 to 2015 was higher at 3.08 percent. (Table 2) • Among seventy-two (72) barangays of Lipa City, Sabang had the biggest population in 2020 with 22,153 persons, while Poblacion Barangay 11 had the smallest population with 379 persons. (Table 3) • Latag was the fastest growing barangay in the city/municipality with an annual population growth rate (PGR) of 16.91 percent from 2015 to 2020. It was followed by San Lucas with a PGR of 9.53, San Salvador with 8.42 percent, Mabini with 8.20 percent, and Tanguay with 7.77 percent. Poblacion Barangay 6 posted the lowest barangay PGR of -16.15. (Table 4) • Lipa City is composed of 72 barangays. • Among barangays of City of Lipa, the largest in terms of population size is Sabang with 22,153 persons. It was followed by Balintawak with 19,278 persons, Marauoy with 18,794 persons, Inosloban with 14,904 persons, and Banaybanay with 12,971 persons. (Table 5) • Poblacion Barangay 11 has the smallest population with 379 persons, followed by Poblacion Barangay 8 with 416 persons, Poblacion Barangay 4 with 508 persons, Poblacion Barangay 9 with 529 persons and Poblacion Barangay 5 with 550 persons. In the tenth place for least populous barangay is Calamias with 1,651 persons. (Table 6)
