Number of Marriages… A total of 488 marriages were registered in Quezon in January 2021. It recorded a decrease of 9.8 percent from the previous month’s total of 541. The daily average of registered marriages during the month was 16, lower than the recorded daily average of 17 in December 2020. Marriages by Place of Occurrence… Lucena City (54 or 11.1 percent) had the highest number of registered marriages. It was followed by Sariaya (52 or 10.7 percent). Infanta (37 or 7.6 percent) and City of Tayabas (31 or 6.4 percent) recorded the next highest registered marriages. Around 51.2 percent of the 41 municipalities/cities in the province registered less than 10 marriage occurrences during the month. There was no marriage event recorded in the municipalities of Jomalig and Perez. Marriages by Type of Ceremony… The most number of registered marriages were solemnized under church rites, with 226 or 46.3 percent. Marriages performed under civil ceremonies totaled 199 accounting for 40.8 percent of the total registered marriages. There were three (3) marriage events celebrated under Muslim rites, equivalent to 0.6 percent. One (1) or 0.2 percent was registered under tribal rites. Marriages celebrated under other types of ceremonies comprised 7.6 percent.
