CPI by commodity group, Year-on-Year Alcoholic beverages and tobacco showed the highest CPI (307.9 index points) among the commodity groups. The group of restaurant and miscellaneous goods and services followed with 127.2 index points. Transport registered the least CPI of 99.9 index points followed by communication with 103.1 index points. Inflation Rate, Year-on-Year The inflation rate (IR) in the province was recorded at 1.9 percent during the reference month. It decreased by 0.5 percentage points from the previous month’s figure of 2.4 percent and by 0.4 percentage points from the rate a year ago at 2.3 percent. Inflation Rate by Commodity Group, Year-on-Year By commodity group, IR was highest for alcoholic beverages and tobacco, posted at 15.9 percent during the month. Restaurant and miscellaneous goods and services (3.5 percent) exhibited the second highest IR, followed by the commodity group of recreation and culture (2.5 percent). Transport had negative IR of 1.0 percent. The rest of the commodity groups had IR ranging from 0.6 percent (furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house) to 1.4 percent (commodity groups of clothing and footwear; and education).
