Vital registration is a continuous process. Hence there is a need to specify certain cut-off period for purposes of reporting. The Birth Statistics in Quezon presented in this report contains highlights and summary of statistical tables of births that occurred on or before 2018 and registered from January 2018 to December 2018. Events that occurred in 2018 but were not registered during the month were not included in this publication. For this report, Decentralized Vital Statistics System (DVSS) 2011 was used in data encoding. In the generation of DVSS tables however, CSPro 7.1 was utilized. Live births… The total number of live births in Quezon reported for the year 2018 was 49,312. This figure was lower by 1,235 or 2.6 percent from the previous year’s total of 48,077. The daily average of birth occurrences during the year was 135. There were more males (25,232 or 51.2 percent) than females (24,080 or 48.8 percent) registered during the year. This resulted to a birth sex ratio of 105 males for every 100 females. Lucena City recorded the highest number of live births with a total of 12,940 or 26.2 percent of the total births registered in the province. Lopez (3,346 or 6.8 percent) topped the rest of the municipalities/city in terms of the number of live births. The least number of registered births was observed in the municipalities of Plaridel (24 or 0.05 percent) and Sampaloc (41 or 0.1 percent). Month of Occurrence… October was the month with the highest number of births with 4,529 while December had the lowest registration of 3,407. In terms of daily average, the month of October recorded the highest figure with 146 births while December had the lowest average of 110 per day. Daily index of more than 100 indicates a daily average higher than the overall figure at the provincial level. Most of the months during the year had daily indices higher than 100. A total of 3,214 live births were registered in the province in March 2024. It recorded a decrease of 2.6 percent from the February 2024 figure of 3,301.
A total of 3,685 live births were registered in the province in January 2024. It recorded an increase of 8.5 percent from the December 2023 figure of 3,397.
