PSA-QUEZON PRIORITIZES ELDERLY PERSONS AND PERSONS WITH DISABLITY (PWDs) IN THE NATIONAL ID SYSTEM
by Vanessa O. Rabuel
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Quezon Provincial Statistical Office has been actively conducting house-to-house registration for the National ID System in the province of Quezon to assist elderly individuals and persons with disabilities (PWDs) in obtaining their National ID.
Special registration services were conducted at the residences of those who are unable to visit registration centers or mobile registration, such as bedridden, elderly and disabled individuals. This approach ensures that all citizens have the opportunity to register with the National ID System, regardless of their physical limitations. This effort not only simplifies the process but also highlights the importance of the National ID System in providing formal identification, which can facilitate access to government services and social protection programs.
Among the primary documents required in the registration include Certificate of Live Birth, Philippine Passport, Unified Multi-purpose Identification (UMID) Card, or Driver’s License issued by the Land Transportation Office (LTO). Clients may also present other government-issued identification document bearing full name, birth date, birthplace, front-facing photograph, signature or thumb mark. In addition, employee ID, School ID, barangay clearance/ID and City/Municipal ID are also accepted.

PSA-QUEZON LEADS COASTAL CLEAN-UP IN PADRE BURGOS, QUEZON
by Rico V. Falculan
In celebration of World Earth Day and its powerful theme, "Our Power, Our Planet," the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Quezon spearheaded a vital Coastal Clean-Up Drive on April 30, 2025. This collaborative effort, organized in conjunction with the Sangguniang Barangay of Danlagan, aimed not only to beautify the coast but also to ignite a deeper understanding of environmental stewardship, particularly among the youth.
World Earth Day serves as a critical reminder of our planet's intrinsic value and the urgent need for ecosystem conservation across all continents and oceans. The clean-up activity was a tangible manifestation of this message, designed to raise awareness about the paramount importance of protecting our natural resources and fostering sustainable growth and development for the country.
Beyond the immediate goal of removing trash and debris from the beaches and waterways, the initiative sought to identify the sources of litter, ultimately aiming to change behaviors that contribute to pollution. It was a powerful statement against the escalating marine debris problem, highlighting its extent and encouraging collective action.
As part of its commitment to environmental responsibility, the PSA also generously donated essential cleaning materials to Barangay Danlagan. These included broomsticks, garbage bags, dustpans, sacks, and even toilet materials, further empowering the community in their ongoing efforts to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
The Coastal Clean-Up Drive in Brgy. Danlagan was more than just an event; it was a testament to the power of community collaboration and a significant step towards a cleaner, more sustainable future for Padre Burgos and beyond.
