PSA QUEZON COLLECTS DATA ON POVERTY INDICATORS
PSA Quezon conducted the 2024 Annual Poverty Indicators Survey (APIS). It is the 15th in a series of poverty indicators survey conducted nationwide since 1998. APIS is the main source of data for the estimation of non-income indicators related to poverty and indicators for Sustainable Development Goals. APIS is a rider survey to the July 2024 Labor Force Survey (LFS).
Meanwhile, LFS is a monthly and quarterly nationwide survey of households conducted by the PSA to provide a labor statistics profile of the population across domains and socio-economic groups. Data gathered in this survey will be used as a quantitative framework for the preparation and formulation of policies affecting the labor market.
The data items asked from respondents include the demographic characteristics; school attendance; educational assistance; technical vocational education and training; economic characteristics; health status and nutrition; migration experience in the last 5 years; hunger and ladder information; social protection; access to government services; housing; water, sanitation and hygiene; early childhood care and development; and other relevant information.
There were 658 sample households/housing units in Quezon covered for these surveys located in seventeen (17) sample municipalities and two (2) cities of the province. PSA Quezon hired ten (10) Statistical Researchers (SRs) and two (2) Team Supervisors for the conduct of the said surveys. Enumeration runs from July 8 until July 31, 2024 utilizing the Computer-Aided Personal Interview (CAPI) as the primary mode of data collection.
Provincial Statistics Officer Airene A. Pucyutan of PSA - Quezon enjoins everyone, especially the sample households to support the conduct of the 2024 APIS and July 2024 LFS by providing truthful and complete information to the authorized data collectors of PSA.
