The Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office IV-A (PSA RSSO IV-A) recently conducted the 2024 2nd Quarter CALABARZON Inter-Agency Committee on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CIACCRVS) Meeting on 24 May 2024 via online using zoom platform.

The Committee was established through PSA Board Resolution No. 12 Series of 2014, to serve as a venue for discussion and resolution of issues on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS), review current techniques/methodologies, and recommend policies and workable schemes towards the improvement of data generated from CRVS. Since 2022, the CIACCRVS meeting is conducted every quarter.

For the 2nd quarter meeting, majority of the member agencies were represented except for the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Justice (DOJ) and Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). The agenda includes the presentation of the signed resolution for the inclusion of the Regional Alternative Child Care Office (RACCO) IV-A as a regular member of Calabarzon IACCRVS. CIACCRVS Chairperson Charito C. Armonia presented the resolution which was unanimously approved by the member agencies.

PSA presented the status and updates on PhilSys Registration, Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP), 2023 Vital Statistics Provisional Result, Decentralized Copy Annotation Project (DeCAP) and PSA-CRS Operations. Also, a discussion on Memorandum Circular No. 2024-11 or the Strict Implementation of the Prescribed Requirements and Provision of Republic Act 10173, otherwise known as Data Privacy Act of 2012 was presented. In addition, CIACCRVS Head Secretariat Wilma A. Villafuerte had a brief discussion on GAD concerns among the member agencies for the integration of Gender Mainstreaming or application of gender equality perspective in all activities of the committee.
