The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) successfully turned over the data from the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) to the local government of Patnanungan, Quezon. Patnanungan was among the LGUs who joined the CBMS roll-out in 2022. The ceremonial activity was held today, December 08, 2023 at Amethyst Hall, 3rd Flr. Queen Margarette Hotel Downtown, Lucena City. This noteworthy event was made possible and realized as a result of the collaborative efforts of the PSA and the local government of Patnanungan and constituents.

Attending officials included the following: Municipal Mayor of Patnanungan Honorable Marie Claire Natividad, Municipal Vice Mayor Reynaldo A. Añonuevo, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Wilmer B. Aman, RSSO 4A Senior Statistical Specialist William T. Perez and Chief Statistical Specialist Airene A. Pucyutan. Also in attendance were the Department Heads of Patnanungan, Quezon and other PSA and LGU personnel.

There were 3,553 responding households with a total of 14,416 individuals covered in the CBMS. Senior Statistical Specialist Margarita G. Cada presented the highlights of the results from the Household and Barangay Profile Questionnaire which included the basic services such as electricity, internet, water, toilet facilities, safety, food insecurity, and disaster preparedness, among others. The LGU can now use the data derived from the CBMS for program planning and policy formulation, according to SrSS Cada.

Mayor Natividad, in her acceptance message, said “…gusto po naming pasalamatan [ang PSA] mula sa local na pamahalaan ng bayan ng Patnanungan sa inyo pong pagtulong, pag-guide para maisagawa natin itong CBMS, simula’t simula nandyan po kayo para i-pursue lalo na sa darating na taon na kailangan na, required na po sa lahat [ng munisipyo] ang CBMS at napakalaking tulong po nito para sa mga mamamayan at bayan namin, kung papaano namin sila matutulungan dahil makikita namin yung mga datos tulad ng ano pa ba ang mga kailangan para sa mga mamamayan at sa bayan namin, sa patuloy na pag-unlad at patuloy na ikagaganda ng bayan ng Patnanungan.Muli, maraming salamat po sa inyo at magandang umaga”.
