PSA Quezon conducts 2023 Census of Philippine Business and Industry (CPBI) with 2023 Input and Output Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (IOSPBI) as a rider of this census to collect and generate data on the levels, structure and trends of business and industries in the entire country. Field operation runs from May 2024 to July 2024 with calendar year 2023 as the reference period. The 2023 CPBI is the 17th in a series of economic censuses in the country conducted every 5 years while 2023 IOSPBI is the 9th in the input-output survey series conducted by PSA.

The 2023 CPBI aims to generate indicators for the evaluation of the performance of establishments by industry, statistics on micro, small and medium establishments/enterprises (MSME) and gender disaggregated statistics on employment in establishments, and provide updates in the Statistical Business Register (SBR). SBR is a database containing records of business units engaged in various economic activities in the entire country. On the other hand, the purpose of the 2023 IOSPBI is to provide economic structure of output and intermediate consumption of industries in the economy.

Major data items to be collected in 2023 CPBI and IOSPBI are general information about the establishment, total employment, revenue, e-commerce transactions, subsidies, expenses, capital expenditures, sales and book value of fixed assets including losses and damages, inventories, and branches and plants owned or controlled by establishments.

Gathered data from CPBI will serve as bases of the government in formulating policies and plans for economic development.

A total of 892 sample establishments for CPBI and 174 initial sample establishments for IOSPBI will be covered in Quezon province distributed in two cities and 38 municipalities of the province except for the municipality of Burdeos. These samples were extracted from the preliminary 2023 Lists of Establishments.

Sample establishments are given multiple options on how they can respond to the survey. They can either accomplish the online, electronic or printed questionnaire.

PSA Quezon Provincial Statistical Office hired seven (7) statistical researchers to complement the fourteen (14) regular field personnel involved in the conduct of these surveys.
The conduct of these surveys is authorized by Republic Act No. 10625. Specifically, Sec. 25 declares that all respondents shall be liable to reply to the statistical inquiry and are required to answer the surveys truthfully and completely.
