VITAL EVENTS April 2019 Births… The total number of registered births in Batangas for the month of March 2019 was 4,388. Compared to last year with the same month, this year’s total number of registered births were 15.26 higher. This registration includes timely and delayed births registered during the month. Marriages… For the month of March, the total number of marriages events recorded in Batangas were 1,259. This records showed a 28.33 percent or 278 events higher from the last year’s report with 981 marriages events of the same month. Deaths… ​There were 1,447 death cases registered in the province in the month of March 2019. Compared to last year with the same month, deaths were higher by 10.21 percent. BIRTH STATISTICS Total Population of Registered Live Births The aggregate number of registered child birth in Batangas were 4,388 with a daily average of 142 live births. Lipa City remained still to have the highest number of registered live births having 727. This gave 16.57 percent of total number of registered births. It was followed by Batangas City with 682 live births while Tanauan City rank third with the registered live births of 418. These top three cities comprised 41.64 percent of the total registered live births in Batangas. Contrary to, Balete and Ibaan got the lowest registered births with only six live births respectively. Many of the municipalities/cities in Batangas have a daily average of one birth. In terms of the daily average per day, the month of March 2019 increased by 15.45 percent compared to same month last year. Live Birth by Sex… The total registered live births were 4,388. About 51.28 percent were males, while the remaining 48.72 percent were females. Batangas has a birth sex ratio of 5 males for every 1 females. San Pascual gained the highest proportion for male and female births having ten births, eight males and two female were born. Lowest sex ratio however, was noticed in Alitagtag and Sta. Teresita. About 58.82 percent of the cities/municipalities in the province reported a sex ratio of 100 and more than 100 while, 41.18 percent also had a sex ratio of less than 100. Live Birth Attendants… Most of the mothers gave births assisted by medical attendants. Medical attendants showed the highest percentage having 87.3 percent. The mothers delivered their babies with assistance from medical staff (physician, nurse, and midwife). The remaining 12.7 percent were delivered by non-medical attendants (hilot, other birth attendants).   MARRIAGE STATISTICS Registered Marriages… The total number of marriage occurred for the month of March was 1,259. Lipa City had the highest number of marriages with 134 and was followed by Batangas City having a total number of 107 nuptial events. The municipalities of Balete and Tingloy gained the least number of marriages having 8 and 6 nuptials, respectively. Marriages by Type of Ceremony... Most of the nuptial events were solemnized under the Roman Catholic rites which had the highest in type of ceremony conducted, having a total number 728 or 57.92 percent of the total recorded marriages in the province. Furthermore, about 459 or 36.51 percent couples chose to took their vows on civil rites. The remaining 5.57 percent or 70 listed marriages were solemnized under other religious rites ceremonies.   DEATH STATISTICS Registered Deaths by Sex… The total number of registered deaths happened in Batangas for the month of March 2019 were 1,447. It is consisted by 57.36 percent or 830 were males and the remaining 42.64 percent or 617 were females. More males were prone to death than female having a 135 sex ratio. Batangas City got the highest registered death having 370 deaths while Sta. Teresita had the least registered death with 3 death case reported. The maximum sex ratio of deaths was from the town of Sta. Teresita and Tuy having a sex ratio of 300 respectively. Attendants and Civil Status at Deaths… The total registered deaths in Batangas were 1,447. About 61.23 percent or 886 death events were attended by health professionals (private physician, public health officer and hospital authority) while the remaining 38.77 percent or 561 were not cared by any health professional. Of the recorded deaths in Batangas, 50.17 percent were married, 24.95 percent were single, 24.19 percent were widow/widower while the remaining 0.69 percent gender were not recorded and divorced.
