POPULATION

The projected mid-year population is being computed as response to demands for latest population estimates to be used as inputs in development plans, policies and programs, market research and analysis, among others.
For the biggest region in the 2020 Census of Population, CALABARZON’s projected mid-year population in 2025 was estimated at 17,477,569. This was a total of 8,731,619 projected male population and 8,745,950 projected female population. The projected mid-year population in 2025 is 1.5 percent higher than the projected count in 2024, that is 17,213,591.
Female population outnumber the male population by a count of more or less 14,331 individuals.

Projected female population in Cavite totalled 2,338,516; followed by Laguna with 1,805,344. For the provinces of Rizal and Batangas, female population was estimated at 1,733,447 and 1,705,945, respectively. Lastly, Quezon had about 1,162,698 female population in 2025.

In terms of male population, Cavite had a total of 2,300,975 estimated male residents. This was followed by Laguna with 1,778,250, Rizal with 1,730,779, and Batangas with 1,717,098. Quezon had an estimate of about 1,204,517 male population.
BIRTH STATISTICS

As of 2023, there were 113,018 male births and 104,888 female births recorded in the CALABARZON region. The number of male births was lower than the previous year, while the number of female births increased. From 2020 to 2021, the total number of births decreased, but it rose again in 2022 and 2023.
Over the past four years, there were more male live births than female live births in the region. In 2023, about 51.9 percent of total live births were males, and 48.1 percent were females.

The sex ratio in 2023 was 107, meaning there were 107 male live births for every 100 female live births.
In 2023, Cavite recorded the highest number of births with 57,275. Of the total, 29,471 were males and 27,804 females. It was followed by Rizal and Laguna, with a difference of only 521 births between their total numbers. In all provinces, there were more male births than female births. Percentage of female births among provinces ranged from 47.6 percent (Laguna) to as high as 48.5 percent (Batangas and Cavite).

DEATH STATISTICS

Over the past three years, the number of male and female deaths in the region displayed a noticeable difference. While the overall death toll has fluctuated, there has been a consistent trend where male deaths outnumber female deaths. In 2023, 58,082 male deaths were recorded compared to 45,205 female deaths, marking a difference of 12,877 more male deaths.
In 2023, Cavite recorded the highest number of deaths with 25,821. Of the total, 14,287 were males and 11,534 were females. It was followed by Rizal (21,667 total deaths), Laguna (20,673 total deaths), Batangas (19,325 total deaths) and lastly Quezon, which had the lowest number of deaths at 13,581.

Among age groups, most deaths occurred when an individual aged 65-69 with recorded deaths of 11,758 (see Annex 1). Within this age range, most of the male deaths occurred. While the highest number of female deaths occurred among those aged 80 and over.
It was also noticeable that there were more male babies who did not reached the age of 1.

MARRIAGE STATISTICS

In 2023, a total of 60,541 marriages were registered in CALABARZON.
Most brides got married when they reached the age of 25-29 years old. A total of 25,238 brides were married at age 25-29 years which comprised 41.7 percent of the total brides. It was followed by females under age group 30-34 with 15,363 total brides at this age group. In addition, there were a record of 1,182 registered marriages where the bride belonged to age group 15-19 years old; and about 349 brides got married when they reached 60 years old and older.
For grooms, 36.7 percent of them got married also when they are in age group 25-29 years, with a total of 22,198. Moreover, a total of 17,941 male individuals got married at age 30-34 years old. About 0.6 percent (384) of the grooms were in age group 15-19 years old; and 1.4 percent (860) were already senior citizens or those whose age is 60 and over.
