This special release presents statistical data on births occurring for the month of March 2024 in the Province of Cavite. This publication shows the disaggregated data of live births by sex and by registration status down to city/municipal level. It also presents the total registered live births by nationality of father and mother, usual residence of the mother, and type of birth. The civil registry documents transmitted by the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) to Cavite Provincial Office for machine processing served as the source of data in preparation of this publication.
Births in Cavite
Table 1 shows that there were 3,950 registered live births in the Province of Cavite for the month of March 2024. Male births accounted for 51.8 percent or 2,048 of the total births while female births accounted for 48.2 percent or 1,902. Males were higher by 146 than females. Seven (7) cities and eight (8) municipalities recorded more male births than females. These were as follows: Cities of Bacoor, Carmona, Dasmariñas, General Trias, Imus, Tagaytay City and Trece Martires City and municipalities of General Emilio Aguinaldo, Kawit, Maragondon, Mendez, Naic, Noveleta, Tanza, and General Mariano Alvarez.
The City of Bacoor recorded the highest registered live births with 637 composed of 329 males and 308 females. This was followed by City of Dasmariñas and Trece Martires City with 619 and 552 registered live births, respectively. The least registered live births were recorded in Ternate 11, followed by Amadeo and General Emilio Aguinaldo with 12 and 17 live births, respectively.
Table 2 shows that 73.1 percent or 2,888 were timely registered and 26.9 percent or 1,062 were late registered. Timely registered births were registered within the reglementary period of 30 days. These births were higher by 1,826 compared to late registered births.
Noveleta had the highest percentage of timely registered births with 94.4 percent or 34 out of 36 total registered births. This was followed by City of Carmona with 85.4 percent or 35 out of 41 total registered births and City of Dasmariñas with 80.9 percent or 501 out of 619 total registered births. On the other hand, Alfonso recorded the highest percentage of late registered births with 73.5 percent or 25 out of 34 registered births, followed by Rosario with 71.0 percent or 44 out of 62 registered births and Magallanes with 66.7 percent or 10 out of 15 registered births.
Figure 1 shows that 3,941 or 99.8% were babies with Filipino parents and 9 or 0.2% were babies with one (1) foreign parent. Births with Filipino parents were higher by 3,932.
Figure 2 shows that the majority of the babies’ mother were residents of Cavite with a total of 3,893 while residents of other provinces were 57.
Figure 3 shows that majority of birth deliveries were single with a total of 3,922 of which 2,031 were males and 1,891 were females. It was followed by twins with 25 composed of 15 males and 10 females. There were 3 births under triplets or more.
Summary
The Province of Cavite had recorded a total of 3,950 live births for the month of March 2024. Male births were predominant in the province. Overall, males outnumbered females by 146. The highest number of registered births came from the City of Bacoor with 637 and the least came from Ternate with 11 live births only. Timely registered births were higher than late registered births. There were also more live births with Filipino parents than births with one (1) foreign parent. Majority of the mothers were residents of Cavite and among the types of birth, single was the most common.
