10 July 2024 – Lipa City. As part of the information campaign for the 2024 Census of Population (POPCEN) and Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS), the Philippine Statistics Authority – Region IV-A has just conducted its regional press launch today, 10 July 2024, at the PSA IV-A Regional Statistical Services Office in Lipa City, Batangas via hybrid set-up.

Led by Regional Director Charito C. Armonia, together with Regional Chief Statistical Specialist Benigno F. Perido and Supervising Statistical Specialist Charity O. Bautista, the event seeks to solicit more public support and cooperation after getting a deeper understanding of the importance of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS.

The POPCEN aims to primarily update the population count and demographic characteristics in the country up to barangay level while CBMS identifies qualified beneficiaries of the government social protection programs. The data that will be collected will serve as basis of the national and local governments in coming up with evidence-based policies and programs for the improvement of the quality of lives of Filipinos.

The household visits will officially commence on July 15, 2024. The PSA encourages all sectors of society to actively participate in order to ensure the success of this nationwide census undertaking.
