CPI, Year-on-Year The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Quezon province for the month of December 2020 was posted at 130.3 index points. ➢ The CPI increased by 6.0 index points from last year’s figure of 124.3. CPI by commodity group, Year-on-Year Alcoholic beverages and tobacco showed the highest CPI (341.4 index points) among the commodity groups. The group of food and nonalcoholic beverages followed with 136.9 index points. Transport registered the least CPI of 102.3 index points followed by communication with 103.3 index points. Inflation Rate, Year-on-Year The inflation rate (IR) in the province was recorded at 4.8 percent during the reference month. ➢ It increased by 0.2 percentage point from the previous month’s figure of 4.6 percent and by 1.5 percentage points from the rate a year ago at 3.3 percent.
