The Philippine Statistics Authority Quezon Provincial Statistical Office in coordination with the local government of Mauban, Quezon conducted PhilSys onsite registration and promotion on the use and benefits of National ID to the residents of Mauban particularly in the Island barangay of Cagsiay III on August 6, 2024. The main objective of the activity is to ensure that all residents of Mauban Quezon including the Indigeneous Peoples are included in the National Identification System. As part of the information awareness campaign during the event, there was a discussion on the importance of being PhilSys-registered and how registrants can utilize the PhilID for social welfare benefits and other transactions that requires a valid ID. Demonstration on how to generate, view and download the Digital National ID using the national-id.gov.ph application was promoted through the distribution of flyers. Attendees were also reminded on the acceptability of National ID in any of its authorized format (Physical PhilID card, ePhilID, Digital National ID) as a valid proof of identity and age in the government and private institutions. Also touched were topics on tracking, retrieval and verification of the status of clients’ PhilID as well as the acceptance of application for the replacement of peeled off/damaged PhilID card. In this event, a total of one hundred-sixty (160) registrants were successfully registered including five (5) Dumagat IPs.
