03 February 2025, Trece Martires City - Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Cavite commemorates Civil Registration Month every February, as established by Presidential Proclamation No. 682, signed by former President Corazon C. Aquino on January 28, 1991. This year's theme, "Building a Resilient, Agile, and Future-fit Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System," emphasizes the crucial role of Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) in creating a future where services are efficiently delivered, safeguarding the well-being and rights of every individual. It also serves as a reminder for citizens to fulfill their responsibility to register vital events such as births, deaths, and marriages.

To kick off the month-long celebration, PSA Cavite held a vibrant Launching Activity on February 3, 2025, at the Boochico Building in Trece Martires City, Cavite. The event was attended by PSA officials, employees, and several Civil Registrars from the province, who participated in a Thanksgiving Mass led by Rev. Fr. Calven Mark A. Banaybanay, Parochial Vicar of Our Lady of Immaculate Concepcion Parish in Dasmariñas City, Cavite.

In her opening message, Chief Statistical Specialist Lucia Iraida A. Soneja highlighted the importance of this annual event in reminding Filipinos of their duty to document vital acts and events that pertain to individual status. She underscored the necessity for a civil registration system that is adaptive and responsive to the changing needs of the population.

The event also included a data appreciation session on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics, along with the discussions of the CRS Outlet Services and Appointment System, the Birth Registration Assistance Project, and the Philippine Identification System. These presentations were delivered by Registration Officer II Martin Ivan E. Pangilinan and the rest of Civil Registration Unit.

The activity concluded with closing remarks from Supervising Statistical Specialist Raquel C. Ronario, who reaffirmed PSA Cavite's commitment to strengthening civil registration and vital services in the province. She emphasized the importance of engaging local stakeholders, promoting public awareness, and ensuring a future-ready civil registration system. (MIEP)
