This special release presents statistical data on births occurring for the month of May 2024 in the Province of Cavite. This publication shows the disaggregated data of live births by sex and by registration status down to city/municipal level. It also presents the total registered live births by nationality of father and mother, usual residence of the mother, and type of birth. The civil registry documents transmitted by the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) to Cavite Provincial Office for machine processing served as the source of data in preparation of this publication.
Births in Cavite
Table 1 shows that there were 4,751 registered live births in the Province of Cavite for the month of May 2024. Male births accounted for 49.5 percent or 2,354 of the total births while female births accounted for 50.6 percent or 2,397. Females were higher by 43 than males. Four (4) cities and 11 municipalities recorded more female than male births. These were as follows: Cities of Bacoor and Imus, Tagaytay City and Trece Martires City and municipalities of Amadeo, General Emilio Aguinaldo, Kawit, Magallanes, Mendez, Naic, Silang, Tanza, Ternate and General Mariano Alvarez. The same number of female and male births were recorded in Alfonso, Noveleta and Rosario.
The City of Bacoor recorded the highest registered live births with 726 composed of 356 males and 370 females. This was followed by Dasmariñas and Trece Martires City with 698 and 649 registered live births, respectively. The least registered live births were recorded in Ternate with 11, followed by Amadeo and Magallanes, both with 15 registered live births.
Table 2 shows that 71.5 percent or 3,395 were timely registered while 28.5 percent or 1,356 were late registered. Timely registered births were registered within the reglementary period of 30 days. These births were higher by 2,039 compared to late registered births.
Noveleta had the highest percentage of timely registered births with 81.7 percent or 49 out of 60 total registered births. This was followed by Trece Martires City (511 out of 649) and Silang (274 out of 348), both with 78.7 percent. On the other hand, Rosario recorded the highest percentage of late registered births with 85.2 percent or 121 out of 142 registered births, followed by Alfonso with 61.1 percent or 11 out of 18 and Magallanes with 53.3 percent or 8 out of 15 registered births.
Figure 1 shows that most of the babies born were from Filipino mother (4,745 or 99.9%) while 6 or 0.1% were babies with foreign mother. Births with Filipino mothers were higher by 4,739.
Figure 2 shows that most of the babies born were from Filipino father (4,413 or 92.9%). On the other hand, 338 or 7.1% were babies with foreign father. Births with Filipino fathers were higher by 4,075.
Figure 3 shows that the majority of the babies’ mother were residents of Cavite with a total of 4,620 while residents of other provinces were 131.
Figure 4 shows that majority of birth deliveries were single with a total of 4,697 of which 2,329 were males and 2,368 were females meanwhile twins had a total of 54 composed of 25 males and 29 females.
Summary
The Province of Cavite had recorded a total of 4,251 live births for the month of May 2024. Female births were predominant in the province. Among the 23 cities / municipalities, 14 recorded higher female births than male births; three (3) municipalities recorded the same number of male and female births. Overall, females (2,397) outnumbered males (2,354) by 43. The highest number of registered births came from the City of Bacoor with 726 and the least came from Ternate with 11 live births only. Timely registered births were higher than late registered births. There were also more live births with Filipino mothers and fathers than births with foreign fathers and mothers. Majority of the mothers were residents of Cavite and among the types of birth, single was the most common.
