Number of Live births…
 The total number of live births in Quezon reported for the year 2024 was 39,763. This figure was lower by 6,498 or 14.0 percent from the previous year’s total of 46,261.
 The daily average of birth occurrences during the year was 109 lower than the recorded daily average of 127 in 2023.
 There were more males (20,203 or 50.8%) than females (19,560 or 49.2%) registered during the year. This resulted to a birth sex ratio of 103 males for every 100 females.

 Lucena City recorded the highest number of live births with a total of 10,766 or  27.1 percent of the total births registered in the province.
 Lopez (3,054 or 7.7%) topped the rest of the municipalities/city in terms of the number of live births.
 The least number of registered births was observed in the municipalities of  Pitogo (42 or 0.11%) and Plaridel (12 or 0.03%).

Month of Occurrence…
 April was the month with the highest number of births with 3,813 while December had the lowest registration of 2,840 .
 In terms of the daily average, the month of April recorded the highest figure with 127 births while December had the lowest average of 92 per day.
 Daily index of more than 100 indicates a daily average higher than the overall figure at the provincial level.

Place of Occurrence and Usual Residence of Mother…
 Majority of the registered births were born to mothers whose usual residence is in Quezon province (38,995 or 98.1%).
 Only a small percentage of the birth occurrences (768 or 1.9%) were born to mothers whose usual residence is outside Quezon province.
Nine (9) out of the 39 municipalities and 2 cities of Quezon province showed a positive difference in the number of births by place of occurrence and the usual place of residence of the mother. This implies that there were mothers who opted to give birth to places where there are available or better health care facilities and social services.
 The highest positive difference of 5,273 was reported in Lucena City. This may be attributed to higher number of hospitals and health care facilities located in the city.
 In contrast, the highest negative difference of 1,011 was observed in Sariaya. This may be explained by its proximity to Lucena City where there are more health care facilities.
