The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) successfully turned over the data from the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) to the local government of Pitogo, Quezon. Pitogo was among the LGUs who joined the CBMS roll-out in 2022. The ceremonial activity was held today, January 05, 2024 at Pitogo, Quezon. This noteworthy event was made possible and realized as a result of the collaborative efforts of the PSA and the local government of Pitogo and its constituents.

Attending officials included the following: Municipal Mayor of Pitogo, Honorable Dexter L. Sayat, Vice Mayor Paul Timothy Villaflor, MPDC EnP Mary Janet P. Balaba, RSSO 4A Chief Statistical Specialist Benigno F. Perido, and Provincial Statistics Officer Airene A. Pucyutan. Also in attendance were the Department Heads of Pitogo, Quezon and other PSA and LGU personnel.

There were 5,104 responding households with a total of 20,738 individuals covered in the CBMS. Senior Statistical Specialist Margarita G. Cada presented  the  highlights of the results from the Household and Barangay

Profile Questionnaire which included the basic services such as electricity, internet, water, toilet facilities, safety, food insecurity, and disaster preparedness, among others. The LGU can now use the data derived from the CBMS for program planning and policy formulation, according to SrSS Cada.

Mayor Sayat, in his acceptance message, said “…Ang bilis kapag may data tayo..Iba kapag may magandang datos tayo, sabi ko nga madali tayong makapanghingi ng pondo sa mga construction kung lahat tayo ay may plano na nandodoon ang data. Ito po yung kahalagahan kaya tayo [Pitogo] ang kauna-unahang bayan na nagsariling pondo para maisagawa ang 2022 CBMS dahil sa kagustuhan kong ang data ay maisaayos natin. At sana naman MPDC, sa mga unit heads, wag basta nandiyan ang CBMS data, gamitin, madaling gumalaw basta nandiyan ang datos. Isa sa pinapangarap ko ay magkaroon ng income generating project ang bayan ng Pitogo at magkaroon ng mga investors. Yun ang maipagmamalaki namin sa inyo, na kahit ang bayan ng Pitogo ay maliit, yung mga investors walang manghihingi sa inyo, tutulungan namin kayo hindi para manghingi, sisiguraduhin naming walang korapsyon sa bayan ng Pitogo. Maraming Salamat po”.
