Number of Marriages… A total of 525 marriages were registered in Quezon in April 2021. It recorded a decrease of 19.2 percent from the previous month’s total of 650.The daily average of registered marriages during the month was 18, lower than the recorded daily average of 21 in March 2021. Marriages by Place of Occurrence… Sariaya (84 or 16.0 percent) had the highest number of registered marriages. It was followed by Lucena City (75 or 14.3 percent). Tiaong (38 or 7.2 percent) and Candelaria (32 or 6.1 percent) recorded the next highest registered marriages. Around 46.3 percent of the 41 municipalities/cities in the province registered less than 10 marriage occurrences during the month. There was no marriage event recorded in the island municipalities of Alabat, Jomalig, Perez, and Quezon, Quezon. Marriages by Type of Ceremony… The most number of registered marriages were solemnized under church rites, with 292 or 55.6 percent. Marriages performed under civil ceremonies totaled 173 accounting for 33.0 percent of the total registered marriages. There were two (2) marriage events celebrated under Muslim rites, equivalent to 0.4 percent. Marriages celebrated under other types of ceremonies comprised 7.6 percent.
